Question by Emily: Phantom spot on floor that smells like cat pee after steam vacuuming?
We recently just rented one of those steam vacuum to clean all our carpets. In two of our rooms there are these spots that smell like cat pee that definitely weren’t there before. Now both of the rooms reek.
What can we do to make the smell go away? We’ve tried febreeze it doesn’t do much at all. We also put baking soda on the areas that smell then vacuumed it up later, that helped a little but not nearly enough.

Answer by K.B. Get some Nature’s Miracle from a pet store. It’s a natural odor neutralizer liquid that might have a smell for a few days, but then it goes away. Whatever you use, try placing a washable towel over the spot and place a heavy object on it to absorb the liquid.
It would be best to get a black light bulb, hold it over the spot in the dark, to make sure it is pet urine – it will glow or something.
Probably when you got the spot wet from steaming it, something old that was in the padding, came up through the carpet.

Question by Moose On Da Loose: I spilled some red cough medicine “vicks 44″ in the back floor of my car, how do i get rid of it?
I tried Woolite oxy floor cleaner and other carpet cleaners but they just fainted it. Any other ideas? I ws thinking steam cleaner or something.

Answer by hez b Steam cleaning will ‘cook’ the stain into your carpet. Use “Pink Solution”.

Question by skywalkeresearcher: Can I use nitric acid as a floor cleaner instead phosphoric acid?
I need to change my original formulation in which phosphoric acid is included, but since this component has significantly increased its cost, I would like to change it for another cheaper. But I still don t know what s the best choice. Thank s in advance for your help.

Answer by mathematicko why not just use hydrochloric acid instead? it is the most effective of all. by the way, nitric acid is also a good option, as long as the acid you are using are considered strong.
